Jason Schailzel and Mark Jarret of Reedsport are the newest graduates of the SAFE Ministry at Highlands Baptist Church. SAFE is a one year Christ-centered drug and alcohol recovery program. SAFE stands for Setting Addictions Free Eternally.
Mark came to the program last year after realizing he needed help. Jason has worked for a long time to get his life cleaned up and has succeeded quite well in the last year plus. “He has come a long way and made great progress in the last year. His whole life has changed,” said Pastor Todd Young. Russell Stout who directs the SAFE Ministry commented, “It is exciting to see God put a life back together. It is always exciting to see what God can do when we let him work.”
SAFE meets on Tuesday nights at 6:30 at Highlands Baptist
Church, 2500 Longwood Drive. If you have any questions, feel free to
call 271-4406 or come next Tuesday night.

You may think that there is no hope for you as you struggle with an addiction. Let me tell you, There is hope. Hope for you and everyone wanting to change their lives and break free of their addictions. That hope is found in SAFE.
SAFE is our addiction recovery program for those struggling with drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, or any other kind of addiction. SAFE is a Christ-centered addiction recovery ministry. SAFE stands for Setting Addictions Free Eternally.
People in our community have used SAFE to bring positive change and purpose to their lives. Families who have been torn apart by drug use have been put back together. Children have been returned from foster care, parents have been able to get and keep productive jobs; all as a result of God's work through SAFE.
To prove the effectiveness of SAFE, some of our graduates now serve as encouragers for others who are working to come out of their addictions. Those who have come out of addictions are the best to point others to freedom.
One principle our encouragers all agree on is that true and complete freedom comes only through the power of God. SAFE helps you begin or renew a personal relationship with God.
SAFE meets every Tuesday at 6:30 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall. If you have any questions, please call the church at 271-4406 or e-mail at
